Farming Simulator 25: Beans & Alpacas is getting another major addition as GIANTS Software officially reveals bananas as a new crop coming with the upcoming expansion. At the same time, players attending gamescom 2026 will have their first opportunity to experience the South American-themed expansion for themselves. 🍌🌴🚜

Bananas Join the Farm

While bananas had already been spotted on the cover of the expansion, GIANTS Software has now officially confirmed the crop and revealed how it will work in-game. Players will be able to grow bananas throughout the year in the new Catuaí region, adding another permanent production option to their farms.

However, banana farming isn't simply a matter of planting and harvesting. The crop introduces a completely new plantation cultivation system, designed around dedicated rows, rails, and washing stations.

A Brand-New Cultivation System

Players can create banana plantations manually or use the game's Boundary Painting system to quickly establish larger growing areas. The system automatically calculates the direction of the rows, the number of rails required, and the overall area of the plantation.

Once the bananas are ready, players can harvest them manually using a machete. The harvested bunches are then placed onto the plantation's rail system and transported towards washing stations. Players who prefer a more automated approach can also hire workers to handle the harvesting process.

After being washed, bananas become pallets that can either be sold or sent into several new production chains.

From Bananas to New Products

The new crop isn't limited to being sold as a raw product. Bananas can be processed into a variety of goods, including banana milk, banana chips, banana jam, and cake.

Different production facilities will make use of the crop, including dairies, canning factories, bakeries, and drying stations. This gives players another reason to integrate banana plantations into their wider production networks.

Banana plants also require regular care. When diseases appear, players will need to treat their plantations with fungicide. After harvesting, the plants are cut back rather than removed entirely, allowing them to regrow and produce another crop.

Beans & Alpacas Comes to gamescom

The banana reveal comes just as Beans & Alpacas prepares for its public debut at gamescom 2026. Visitors to GIANTS Software's booth in Hall 6 will be able to play the expansion for the first time from August 26th to 30th in Cologne.

Players will be able to explore the new Catuaí region, grow coffee and bananas, experience the new farming systems, and take care of the expansion's new animals. The playable demo will also give visitors the chance to shear alpacas, one of the most distinctive new gameplay features introduced with the expansion.

More Than Just Coffee

The addition of bananas further expands the scope of the Beans & Alpacas Expansion. Alongside coffee production and alpaca husbandry, players will have access to new machinery, production chains, and agricultural systems inspired by South American farming.

With banana plantations now officially confirmed, players can expect even more variety when managing their farms in Catuaí.
