British Columbia's Tunnels & Snow Sheds Revealed for ATS

American Truck Simulator continues to reveal more of the breathtaking landscapes awaiting drivers in the upcoming British Columbia DLC. This time, SCS Software has highlighted one of the province's most distinctive engineering features—its spectacular tunnels and snow sheds, designed to keep traffic moving safely through the rugged Canadian mountains. 🏔️🚛

Driving Through the Mountains

British Columbia is home to some of North America's most challenging mountain roads, where steep terrain and heavy snowfall have shaped the highway network for decades. To recreate this unique driving experience, SCS Software has carefully modeled a variety of tunnels and snow sheds that players will encounter throughout the expansion.

From winding mountain passes to dramatic rock formations, these structures add another layer of realism while showcasing the incredible engineering found across western Canada.

Iconic Snow Sheds

Among the highlights is the Great Bear Snow Shed on the famous Coquihalla Highway, one of the province's best-known avalanche protection structures. Snow sheds are specially designed concrete covers that allow snow and avalanches to pass safely over the roadway while traffic continues underneath.

Players will also drive through several additional snow sheds located along the Trans-Canada Highway in Glacier National Park, faithfully recreating one of Canada's most memorable mountain routes.

Historic Tunnels Await

In addition to avalanche protection structures, the DLC features several real-world highway tunnels, including the Yale Tunnel, Alexandra Tunnel, Hell's Gate Tunnel, Ferrabee Tunnel, and China Bar Tunnel near the town of Hope. Drivers visiting the Vancouver area will also pass through the well-known Cassiar Tunnel.

Together, these landmarks help recreate the atmosphere of British Columbia's legendary highways, where every journey offers dramatic scenery and unforgettable driving conditions.
