PMR1 - Update 2.0 Is Now Live

Straight4 Studios has released Update 2.0.0.0 for Project Motor Racing. 🏁

This patch primarily focuses on general stability and performance improvements, alongside a significant rework and rebalance of AI opponents to provide a more realistic racing experience.

Physics & Handling Improvements

The update continues the evolution of the throttle response model introduced previously, now expanded to even more car classes for a more authentic feel:



Throttle Response and Physics


  • Throttle Response: New and improved engine response across multiple classes including Porsche 992 Trophy, N-GT, and AUS-v8.
  • Mazda MX-5 Trophy: Upgraded AI behavior and rebalanced physics for tighter competition.
  • Porsche 992 Trophy: Added a taller default final drive gear ratio based on community feedback.
  • Custom Setups: Fixed an issue where gear ratios from ModHub setups would not load correctly.

Vehicle & Environment Art Updates

Several vehicles have received visual enhancements to improve immersion and fix minor graphical glitches:



Visual Enhancements


  • Lighting & Textures: Improved lighting and Ambient Occlusion (AO) effects for BMW M4 GT3/GT4, Nissan Z GT4, and Panoz LMP-1.
  • Rain Effects: Enhanced visual effects for rainy conditions across all circuits.
  • Circuit Stability: Performance improvements for Daytona International Speedway and Takimiya Circuit.

AI & Online Stability

The AI has been rebalanced for better speed prediction and more realistic pit strategy during changing weather conditions. Additionally, online lobby hosts now have more control over player counts and session transitions have been stabilized.
